Fall Drama Program
Established by Peter A. Mahler in 1975, the Fall drama program of The Kittatinny Players has set forth high expectations of acting and stage craft for the current regime. The torch was passed to Chris Tryde who directed over 20 Fall dramas. Masterpieces have blessed our stage under his direction including "The Crucible," "Our Town" and the Shakespearean classic, "A Midsummer Night’s Dream." For only the third time in the program’s 44 year history, the torch was passed again in 2014 to the current program director, Roy J. Chiariello. His goal is simply to continue the path of excellence set forth by the past.
Winter Musical Program
Back in 1989, a group of high school theater students from Hopatcong decided to take a ride over some “Twin Bridges” and make their way to see a musical in the countryside of Northern Sussex County. Rumor had it that the productions were amazing at Kittatinny Regional High School. They were blown away by the quality and professionalism from a high school production.
Almost three decades later, one of those students from Hopatcong now directs the Kittatinny Players and continues to push forward fulfilling the excellence established by its founder, Peter A. Mahler. Established in 1975, the Kittatinny Players have demanded excellence from their cast and crew and today is no exception. The Kittatinny Players prides itself with being one of the largest student based programs at Kittatinny with close to 15% of the student population being involved in our productions. We truly are one big family, living in the past to continue fostering the future.
